Description

Creamy Chicken Florentine combines golden seared chicken breasts with a velvety spinach-Parmesan sauce. This Italian-inspired classic is perfect for weeknight dinners or elegant gatherings.


Ingredients

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

6 cups fresh spinach (about 6 oz)

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: chopped parsley, extra Parmesan for garnish


Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken – Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. Sear the Chicken – Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F). Remove and tent with foil.

  3. Sauté Garlic – Lower heat to medium, add garlic, and cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant.

  4. Deglaze the Pan – Add chicken broth, scraping up brown bits. Simmer briefly.

  5. Make the Sauce – Stir in cream and Italian seasoning. Bring to a gentle simmer.

  6. Add Parmesan – Whisk in Parmesan until smooth and slightly thickened.

  7. Wilt the Spinach – Stir in spinach a handful at a time until wilted.

  8. Finish the Dish – Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top, and simmer 2–3 minutes.

  9. Serve & Garnish – Adjust seasoning, sprinkle with parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot with pasta, rice, or bread.

Notes

Swap heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
