Description
A quick and flavorful Korean-inspired ground beef bowl, seasoned with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil, served over rice with fresh garnishes.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended for best flavor)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for heat preference)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
1 cup broccoli florets (optional)
2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
Sesame seeds (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles, about 6–8 minutes.
- Drain excess fat, leaving a little if desired for flavor.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to coat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- If using broccoli, add it during the last 3–4 minutes of cooking, cover briefly to steam until tender-crisp.
- Ensure rice is cooked and ready to serve.
- Taste beef mixture and adjust seasoning (soy sauce for salt, sugar for sweetness, red pepper flakes for heat).
- Scoop rice into bowls and top with beef mixture.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve warm.
